Good location
Review by WEI S. - Ashfield, Australia (26-Jan-2014)

Convince to go to city, only take 20mins. Nice environment surround, room is cleaned properly , sofa is comfortable, tv has few channels, room size is big enough for 2 persons, bath room is a bit small but water is quite well. Laundry room is separated at second floor.

A great stay
Review by Andy R. - Rownmams, England (23-Jan-2014)

We had never been to Melbourne before and the Mint hotel provided us the the perfect base: Far enough outside the CBD to be quiet but only a short 10min tram ride to federation square, and only a 15 or so minute walk to the lovely St. Kilda beach!
The room was clean and airy and the staff were very helpful.
The only slight downside came on our last night when we had a particularly loud couple staying in the room next door and everything could be clearly heard through the adjoining door between the two rooms!
Not enough to put us off staying there again though!

Great stay (but prefer not to have disability room)
Review by Alan S. - South melbourne, Australia (23-Jan-2014)

This is an excellent mildly trendy and boutique-like hotel on the St Kilda Road Avenue locale. The rooms are clean and airy and the location is very convenient to the city centre or South Yarra/Albert Park
Good size rooms and different furnishings and decor.
Overall a great stay.
Additional Questions:
• Is there anything we can do to improve the quality of your next stay?
Not a disability equipped room I'm afraid as the bathroom is not as good

Very nice furnishings, decor etc BUT ....
Review by Melinda H. - Bega, Australia (23-Jan-2014)

Having stayed at Mint St.Kilda before and enjoyed it, we were very disappointed this time as we found our room to be very small.
It was not really suitable as an apartment for 2 persons as there was only one chair, and no chairs (other than the desk chair) or table to eat from. Also the balcony was tiny and again
not adequate for two people (if we had chairs to sit there. The TV
could not be turned for better viewing by 2 people lying on their
beds. Also not enough hanging, drawer or cupboard space, and
the food preparation area was limited.
Tip: Include the Tram number and Stop number in your guest pre-info.

We were completely unaware of the small size of the room until entering it. Our room on a
previous stay was much better and entirely suitable.

Overnight Stay
Review by LIBBY S.- Tarneit, Australia (23-Jan-2014)

We went for our anniversary night. The price was reasonable, but the view was terrible. Our room was at the back of the hotel (Room 217), located above the garage door, which we heard going up and down all morning, plus the garbage truck was doing it's job too. Least to say our morning sleep in, was not restful. The room itself is pleasant and the shower is lovely.
I hope if we stay again, we can be placed in room on a much higher level, and the balcony..don't bother about it. I would only recommend this hotel if we were given a room on a much higher level with a decent view, not a view of a car park. Oh well, I never seem to have luck when booking hotel rooms.
Tip: Ask for a room on a higher level, you are the one who is paying.

Great Experience

First Class! Will look for Mint hotels when I may be travelling and needing accommodation for future trips. Would like to know where Mint hotels are in capital citals and regional centres such as newcastle and Wollongong. International countries such as New Zealand, Italy, Thailand

Great place to stay
Review by Cheryl M.- Benalla, Australia (21-Jan-2014)

This is like a home away from home for me now. I have a little grandchild up the road but little space to stay, so stay at the Mint instead. Love the rooms with fresh air and balcony. Service is consistently good. Handy to eateries, tram, or even a quick and economical taxi trip to most places. The restaurant downstairs does a nice breakfast and serves up some nice Italian too. Recommend this one easily.

Great hotel, the accommodation and staff were great, we only stayed a couple of nights but were very pleased with our choice. Perfect location with convenient access to public transport however, if you are planning on using public transport and have not been to Melbourne before make sure you research the Myki card as you will need one and limited information available at stops.
I would also recommend the restaurant Bistro Bakini attached to the hotel, food and service exceptional.

Fourth visit didn't disappoint
Review by Susan N. - Warwick, Australia (21-Jan-2014)

Having stayed here 4 times for our annual trip to the tennis we tried an executive studio this time which was a tiny bit more spacious. Well appointed and maintained, the studios are however on the small size. The layout would be enhanced with a Queen bed rather than a King when it comes to refit time. The Reception Staff are excellent and we were rewarded for our loyalty with good rates, prints outs of match schedules and free wif-fi. The location is convenient for tram travel and there are shopping options comparatively nearby. Limited operation of on site restaurant not under Mint's control but when open, offerings were excellent. Highly recommended.
Tip: Call and discuss rates.
