Cooly Rocks On this week

The countdown is on and excitement is building in Coolangatta and the surrounding suburbs on the southern end of the Gold Coast - just 2 days remain until the Cooly Rocks On festival begins!

Just 2 days until Coolangatta is taken over by family fun, vintage cars, bands, dancing competitions, retro market stalls and all the fun of the 50's & 60's.  Make sure you don't miss the big highlights of the Street Parade, the Oodle-Poodle Parade and the nightly convoy of over 1,000 retro cars as they roll their way from Kirra through to Tweed.

If you haven't already confirmed your accommodation or arrival details with the team at Mint Coolangatta Points North Apartments please do as soon as possible to ensure you are not affected by the road closures that are in place to ensure everyone enjoys the festival.

Please be aware of the road closures below when planning your arrival:

The central business district roads of Coolangatta & part of Tweed Heads will be closed for the annual Cooly Rocks On Festival.  This road closure will take place from midnight Friday 7th June, 2013 through until midnight Sunday evening 9th June, 2013.   Streets affected by these closures are:

Coolangatta – Marine Parade & Griffith Street and all intersecting streets [There will be restricted access to Chalk Street & Warner Street during this period also]

Additional road closures – Car Cruises

Tweed Heads – 5.40pm to 6.00pm Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 June, 2013

Boundary St (south west lane only) from Coral St to Wharf  Street, Wharf Street (north east lane only) from Boundary Street to Bay Street

In addition to the above road closures, further road closures will take place for activities involved with the Festival, which are:

The Street Parade. Saturday 8/6/2013 – from 9.00am to 11.30am.

The Shannon’s Super Cruise. Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th June 2013:  6.00pm to 8.00pm.

Streets proposed to be closed for these cruises include the above mentioned ‘General Road Closure’ streets as well as McLean St, Marine Pde leading into Musgrave St & Musgrave St through to and including the Round-a-bout at the intersection of Musgrave St & Pacific Pde. All streets intersecting with the above will also be closed for the duration of the Street Parade & Car Cruises.

The hotel front desk staff, Jo and Rebecca, were very helpful and professional (You all did very well in selecting both for positions). I was more than pleased with my stay. I have passed along your hotel to friends that plan to ..
